[Translated from Spanish. Students at Los Patojos are learning English.]To this day, I have been attending Los Patojos for about 7 years. When I was 7 years old, I was in primary school. I studied in public school, but in the evenings I came to Los Patojos. I told my mother that it was a very nice and fun place to be, but in those years, Los Patojos was only open in the afternoons. My mom made the decision to continue taking me there because I liked it very much, so I started to be part of a group called “The Meteorites". The truth is, before I started to go to the project, I stayed a lot in the street with my friends and I decided to dedicate my time at Los Patojos to learn everything that they offer us through the activities that the teachers make which are very fun.The project really helped me change my attitude and my desire to continue studying because they officially inaugurated the school and enrolled me in the project. I like it a lot because it is different from other schools- the environment, people, how they work with children and young people- for me it is very important.In all these years, I have been guided in what I want to become. They give me the opportunity to participate in the arts workshops, something that is not in the other schools (at least not where I was), but if there are, I would like that all children and young people have the same opportunity that I have in the project.The dream that I have for my life is to be a pediatrician. Being in the project, I have always seen that there is a clinic where they attend to many children, which has motivated me to be a pediatrician and someday [work at] Los Patojos’ clinic.I am sure that with JustWorld and Los Patojos we are doing a wonderful job. I would love to know the arrival dates of our (JustWorld) ambassadors; they are very good people and always bring creative activities. I appreciate them and my family as well. - Original Text -Hasta el día de hoy llevo aproximadamente 7 años de estar asistiendo a Los Patojos. Tenía 7 años de edad, estaba en primero primaria, estudiaba en la escuela pública, pero por las tardes llegaba a Los Patojos. Le conté a mi mama que allí era un lugar muy bonito y divertido para estar, pero en esos años Los Patojos lo abrían solo por las tardes y mi mama tomó la decisión de seguir llevándome porque me gustaba muchísimo, entonces empecé a formar parte de un grupo llamado “Los Meteoritos”. La verdad antes que empezara a ir al proyecto, me mantenía mucho en la calle con mis amigos y amigas y decidí dedicar mi tiempo en los patojos para aprender todo lo que ellos nos brindan allí por medio de las actividades que realizan los maestros que son muy divertidas.Realmente el proyecto me ayudó a cambiar mi actitud, mis ganas por seguir estudiando porque ahora inauguraron la escuela oficialmente y me inscribieron en el proyecto. Me gusta mucho porque es diferente a las demás escuelas, el ambiente, las personas, la forma de trabajar con los niños y jóvenes, para mí es muy importante.En todos estos años me han guiado en lo que quiero llegar a ser. Me dan la oportunidad de participar en los talleres de artes, cosa que no hay en las otras escuelas, al menos en las que estuve no las habían pero si las hay, me gustaría que todos los niños y jóvenes tengan la misma oportunidad que yo tengo dentro del proyecto.El sueño que tengo para mi vida es poder ser una pediatra. Estando en el proyecto siempre he visto que hay una clínica y allí atienden a muchos niños el cual me ha motivado a ser una pediatra y algún día atender la clínica de Los Patojos.Estoy segura que junto JWI y Los Patojos estamos haciendo un trabajo maravilloso. Me encanta saber las fechas de llegada de nuestros embajadores, son muy buenas personas y siempre traen actividades creativas. Yo les agradezco y mi familia también.
